Overview

RTL's telematics systems have been implemented successfully in vehicle fleets around the world. For the majority of customers, however, RTL's telematics systems are not shirnk-wrapped packages but advanced systems, which not only solve specific problems, but also enhance business agility at a strategic level. RTL's systems are much more than just pieces of hardware and software. Our role as a design house, manufacturer, supplier and support organisation is therefore much more demanding. Achieving the business objectives of your purchase is dependent on meticulous implementation carried out in close co-operation with our staff.

Project Planning

RTL's project delivery model ensures that customer projects are completed within budget, on time and to exact specifications.

The model comprises five phases:
  • Sales
  • Project scope analysis
  • System design and development
  • Implementation
  • Support

Adopting this approach means that we have the opportunity to incorporate the lessons we learn from each implementation into a process of continuous improvement.

Team Approach

One of the concepts at the heart of our Project Delivery Model are teams consisting of agreed roles and representatives. These teams are comprised of highly trained and experienced staff whose sole task is to implement our solutions to pre-agreed standards.

For each new stage in a project, we establish a steering group and a project team consisting of RTL internal project consultants as well as key customer representatives. They then work together towards clearly defined, measurable goals.

Project Quality

Our quality assurance methodology checkpoints all actions in the project delivery process. This is designed to ensure that any implementation issues surface and can be addressed immediately.

Sign-off milestones during key stages in the project allow the customer to take full part in controlling the course of events. Both the customer and RTL can agree that targets have been attained with 100% transparency.
